I know this is a little late, but you guys out in the streets need to
know that duct tape is the best thing to have in a protest.
1) Flung in 15-25 foot strips at unruly groups when weighted on one end
(a can of soda works great). You can't image how much frustration this
can cause. Imagine a 100 stips of duct tape landing among a tight group.
The tape sticks to everything and seriously slows down and incapacitates
the targets.
2) It can be used to make instant roadblocks. With a bit of effort, a
half dozen people can block off a street in a 30 seconds or less. As
they attempt to clear the road block, use techinique 1.
3) Grab hold of things that you don't want to touch (like very hot tear
gas grenades). You can then fling the undesirable object very
effectively.
4) Hanging signs and banners.
5) Best of all, this is not a weapon. You can be arrested for any
reason, but you're very unlikely to be convicted for the possesion of
duct tape. Remember, if anybody asks, the reason you have the tape is to
hang signs and banners!
As your standing around watching the crowds, I'm sure you'll come up
with more ideas. Bring a few rolls to share.
